This ain't no fucking Gangsta movie, this is real shit when I pull out my uzzi.

Now the two of them were just walking around.. "Lets go find something fun to do.." She left the rest up to Donovan.

"There isn't much open at this time.. we could just go to a park." Donovan decided it was the best thing to do, though it sempt like parks always got him into some kinda trouble. He always managed to run into a crazy vampire or some a posse of slayers... hell, he even met a group of zombies. "Actually, on second thought... let's go to a coffee shop." He laughed, "I don't think I wanna get involved in a buch of dramatic bull shit. That always seems to happen in parks." So, they turned towards the local (and apparently all-night.. >.>;) Starbucks.

Some people turned their heads as the stylishly dressed couple walked into the door. Donovan in a Dark (Blood XD)Red overcoat, Black Mesh Shirt, Black Leather Pants, and gothy combat boots. His style never really changed, except for his hair... which now had different colored bangs. Yep, he looked like someone that had just left Hot-Topic.... which he hated.

"I'm tired of these cloths, I gotta get out of them." He paused after saying that. "Uhhh... I didn't mean it like that. I just ment.." He gave up. "Sorry." He went to the counter and ordered his drink, then they sat down.

"Mirah... there's something I wanna ask you," he took a sip of his drink and tried to put his thoughts into words. "I...just don't know how you'll respond... so I'm kinda scared to ask." He drank more, very quickly. He put his hand over his face... "Ahh.. nevermind. I'm sorry... it's a dumb question anyways." His eyes shifted left and right. 'Idiot!' He thought to himself as he continued to sip from his drink.

i'll hide from the world, behind a broken frame. and i'll run forever, i can't face the shame...

IC:
Along with the soda that Arliss and Vix had requested, Demi decided to pick up a few.. extra things. When Arliss noticed them he explained, "I thought it would make things more fun. Heh.."

[ooc: lmao i read that twice like "O.o? what kinda perverse plan does he have!!??" 'cos I didn't know he'd gotten booze til i read the next lines xDDD]

"Definitely," Arliss laughed, and glanced over to Vix. "She gets really wierd when she drinks, too..."

"What?" Vix called and glanced over, perking at the sight of what Demi had brought home.

"Nothing," Arliss said as Demi went to put the drinks away. She plopped back down next to Vix, who was making her fighter run around Arliss' abandoned one. Taking up the controller, Arliss laughed. "Oh man, your chick looks like a frickin' retard XD!"

"YOU'RE a frickin' retard," Vix shot back and the game commenced. Not a moment after Vix was defeated by Arliss [yet again], Demi came over and sat next to them.

"So.. while I was out I picked up a familiar sent" He grinned at the two. “Guess who it was?”

Several guesses were thown out; "Robin Williams?" "WILLIAM SHATNER." "David Hasselhoff??!" "::Crack.:: MACGUYVER!?" "Haha! Oh my god, what if it's Courtney Love...?"

Arliss had suggested the previous one; she and Vix exchanged a look of pure disgust.

"Why would you even sugguest that?" Vix asked, then gazed to Demi, who looked amused and perhaps a little impatient at their obvious lack of effort to answer seriously. "I hope you killed her."

“Nope. Donovan.”

"Oh," the girls said in unison, suppressing grins.

“But that’s not all. There were some demons hanging around, too. I’m thinking something big is probably about to happen.” He grinned at the possibility of them having a part in some big adventure.

"And you're happy about that...?" Vix muttered, incredulous.

Arliss scratched her head. "Demons? Well, that's strange... trouble always does seem to follow that man around, though. I wonder what's up this time?"

“Guess whenever we get together with D, we can see if he knows what’s going on.”

"Sounds like a plan," Arliss said and she grinned back at Demi, likely thinking along the same lines of an anticipated adventure. "This sounds a little more serious than bitchy vampires and psychotic deserter werewolves..."

Vix blinked and glared. "Not you too, Arlie...! Ugh, well. whatever... if you guys wanna find him quick, you know I'm good for the job." She slid off the bed, and faced them, her hands on her hips and a grin of her own appearing. "But for now, what say you to those drinks you brought home, eh?"

[ooc: while that was fun, it was kinda a crappy post for them, too...sorry. i'm being rushed. ::posts as anu quickly x.x::]

On the top of a building a few blocks away from where a dhampir and a pair of werewolves were getting drunk [xD], a fight was ending.

"So you two were my replacements," Anubis drawled, lifting an eyebrow as he crouched next to a crumbled form on the ground, not bothering to avoid the growing puddle of blood that his knee was resting in. The figure on the ground glared up at him with great effort. Somewhere off to the side, the other higher was groaning, trying to pull himself away with one arm. The other dragged uselessly, and looked only to be held onto his body by the fabric of his clothes.

Anubis watched this and then smiled, looking back down at the higher he'd been speaking to. "You're friend wasn't so quiet after all, was he? I guess he didn't expect the pain you feel in the human world...it's so different than our own, isn't it?" He lifted a hand to a gash that was on his shoulder, probing it with a look of fascination. "I sort of like it, myself."

The higher emitted something that could have been a bitter chuckle, but he coughed up blood instead.

Anubis chuckled, too, slipping a grip onto the higher's neck. "Next time you see Boss, why don't you tell him," a pause, as he mocked a far off look, "tell him..how much I love him." Still smiling, he crushed the higher's neck.

"Nnh," groaned the other, staring at his now very dead comrade. Anubis blinked and turned to him, as if he'd forgotten he was there. Stalking over, Anubis mechanically took care of him; he was no longer amused with the broken demons.

'Time to get to work,' he thought vaguely and reached around to his back, feeling around until he found was he was looking for. No, they weren't ready yet... Sighing, he sprinted across the roof and made a flying leap to the next building, landing somewhat unsteadily. He repeated the process, growing more graceful with each landing as he crossed the town, trying to find her scent or aura.

OOC: Ugh..e.e;; not very progressive but he's getting there 8D...Maybe UBASTI [xD] can sense him or something e.E

the spirit song still surrounds me, in refrain, in shadows growing wings

OOC: ::hump of Demi's leg:: 8DD

IC: "Hmm.. movie? Uh.. I don't think so." Mirah really wasn't in the mood to see a movie. "We could still go out, though. I'm not really tired." She went to her room and changed. When she came back out, the kitty was asleep on the couch. 'She'll be fine by herself.. I think.' For some reason, she had a feeling the cat would be upset if Mirah left her alone.. but that was just stupid. Cats were known for being very independent animals, after all.

"Well, lets go then." She grinned at Donovan and looped and arm through his. It was winter time and cold outside, so she was wearing a warm leather coat. It was tan and had what looked like sheep’s wool for an interior, ending at the knees. Her boots matched the coat. Obviously, she loved buying clothes and shoes.

Now the two of them were just walking around.. "Lets go find something fun to do.." She left the rest up to Donovan.

----------

OOC: I don't know where exactly they are supposed to be.. e.e ::just makes something up::

IC: The girls wanted some drinks and somehow Demi had been recruited to pick them up. He had just arrived at the place they were renting out, a nice two bedroom place with a decent amount of space. They were pretty new to this city. Anyway, he had barely stepped in when Arliss pounced him.

"Ah!" He laughed and hugged her with one arm, placing the drinks on the floor with the other. Along with the soda that Arliss and Vix had requested, Demi decided to pick up a few.. extra things. When Arliss noticed them he explained, "I thought it would make things more fun. Heh.." [Can werewolves get drunk? XD] He put the sodas in the fridge and liquor in the freezer, then sat down next to the girls who were playing Soul Caliber.

"So.. while I was out I picked up a familiar sent" He grinned at the two. “Guess who it was?”

They, of course, came up with stupid, random guesses.

“Nope. Donovan.”

They had a knack for running into the vampyre, no matter where they went.

“But that’s not all. There were some demons hanging around, too. I’m thinking something big is probably about to happen.” He grinned at the possibility of them having a part in some big adventure. He’d never heard of a demon hanging around the mortal world unless something really important was going on. “Guess whenever we get together with D, we can see if he knows what’s going on.”

OOC: Damn it.. I was so anxious to RP with Demi, but then I couldn't think of much to do. T.T I guess Demi was around the same area as D and Anubis since he picked up there sents and stuff.. e.e;;

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6, 6!!!! XD

OOC: Whew, finally things are sort of settled down XD TIME TO RP =DDDDDD ...and time to attempt to bring in the wonderful werewolves XDD ::humpsthem.:: =xxx Btw, since I am RPin' more than one person, I am switching back to third person x.x; It would be so confusing e.e;

IC:
The pair was standing within arms length of one another. She herself stood with her knees somewhat bent, shifting the blades in her grip. The other curled her fingers around what looked to be a samurai sword.

They glared.

And then they attacked. Slashing, spinning, like a dance of death. Nothing could stop this...

"Arliss, stop cheating!" Vix hissed, pressing buttons wildly on the PS2 controller. On screen, the woman with the samurai sword continuously was preforming one quick strike attack that her own character was repeatedly unable to recover from.

"Shut up, you have two weapons! I only have ONE!" And she continued to pummel Vix's character with the same attack until she achieved a flawless victory. "WHOOOOOOO!" Arliss hooted, and Vix promptly shoved her off the bed.

"Demi needs to come back so I can...beat him," Vix snorted, watching Arliss laugh from the floor. "At least he doesn't cheat."

Arliss, still laughing, pulled herself back up onto the bed. "I'm sure he'll be back soon...aha...whew. Man you get mad so easy. It's funny."

"Shut up and fight," Vix scoffed and the pair began another round of Soul Calibur II.

Not a second later, Demi stepped in, announcing his arrival, and Arliss dropped her controller and immediately flew to the front door, pouncing Demi. "DEMIDEMIDEMIDEMI!"

"!!" Vix took the opprotunity to attack Arliss' unmanned character relentlessly, while Arliss apologized for her strange behaviour to Demitry, blaming it on all the candy she'd been eating. She was interrupted by Vix howling out her victory over her motionless opponent on screen.

-----

Anubis sighed. That creature he'd seen earlier, the one who'd obviously been around Mirah, the halfbreed... he somehow doubted the man would cooperate. Whatever, at least he knew Mirah wasn't too far... and thanks to the strange creature, he thought he might at least know what direction to look.

'I can just follow him, he'll lead me there eventually,' Anubis thought, his face set in a scowl. He hated having to rely on others, but in the human world, things were much different. It took him time to adjust, so at the moment, he wasn't at his full strength. He glanced down at his hands, specifically, at the claws on his fingers. They'd grown somewhat since his arrival and had hardened. It wasn't much, but it was something...

No matter. He had time. He had all the time in the world... he just wanted to make sure he knew where the halfbreed was. He could watch her. He would wait...

He looked up at to the fire escape that ran over the side of the building. The ladder was drawn up, out of his reach... but not quite. Not even bothering to make sure no one was watching, he sprung upward, grabbing the bottom of the ladder easily, and imediately pulling himself up. His movements resembled that of a cat, fluid motion without effort.

Once he got to the roof, he climbed onto the ledge and sat in a crouch, staring off in the direction the strange winged man had gone. He couldn't see him anymore. "No problem," he muttered to himself.

"I hope you aren't talking about us," said a familiar voice from behind Anubis and he shifted his weight slightly to look over his should at the pair of men that were suddenly standing not too far away from him... but they weren't men at all. [OOC: THEY WERE STRIPPERS =D ..::Sh XD::]

Demons. Like him. They were highers.

"Boss is pretty pissed off," said the first, curling and uncurling his clawed hands to create an irritating cracking sound with each motion.

"Is that supposed to be new information?" Anubis asked, laughing sardonically, and not even bothering to stand or turn to fully face them. "I didn't expect him to be throwing a party at my absense, so I suppose you guys aren't here to invite me to that, either. Guess that means he sent you to take care of me, huh?"

"Well, he certainly didn't ask us to bring you back," said the first one. The other one had yet to speak, and it appeared as though he had no intention to.

"Glad to see Boss isn't gonna underestimate me by just sending one of you..." Anubis said, finally standing up and turning to face them. "Maybe I'm a lower, but only by word..."

"Such words are blasphmous!" snarled the demon.

"Heh..." Anubis stepped down from the ledge and onto the roof. "Blasphemy? That's a funny word for one of us to use, don't you think?"

The higher snarled and he and his silent companion attacked.

OOC: TO BE CONTINUED...later. or something. XD I wanted to write more but I can continue it in my next post. Hope you dun mind that I sorta used Demi, Luna. xP I wanted to bring them in tho'.

Gabe's return will bring many things into the picture, including this. ENJOY! (Hint: Click Me)

A storm was setting over the english countryside, nothing that unusual for it's location, over the sounds of the storm... a sudden scream rang out.

I got out of my bed, Nova was still sleeping quietly. She was pretty tired after all those exercises she had been working on. She was always so cute when she was sleeping. Putting on a robe I picked up from off of the floor, I rushed over to the trainning bunks: Where the scream came from. As I was running, several other teachers were comming out of their homes and into the storm. "Hey, it came from the bunks!" I called out to them, they nodded and began to follow me.

Within a few minutes, we arrived at bunk twenty two. :: Knock Knock :: Nobody responded. :: KNOCK KNOCK :: I suddenly heard a wimper.

"We're comming in!" Raziel and Zadkiel yelled.

Those two, mostly Raziel, resorted to violence before anyone else in the clan. Zadkiel usually just does whatever Raziel thinks is best, I guess since Raziel is second in command. "Damnit you two, what the hell is the matter!? We have keys to this door, ya know!?" I shouted at them. Zadkiel looked at Raziel, then just rolled his eyes at me. Raziel turned to me, "There's no time for that... he's in the corner." I shrugged it off, then rushed to the corner of the room. There, a student was curled up and crying. "Hmm... could it be.. a vision?" Zadkiel looked at us. "Let's take him to Ariel, she'll help him out." I calmly said.

"You two, do that. I'm going to tell..him.." Raziel quickly ran to The Mystic's tent. Raziel didn't seem to like the boss that much, but it was his duty to report things like this to him. Zadkiel and I carried the student to Ariel's place. "Ariel, a student... something's wrong." I couldn't knock or I'd drop the kid. "Please, hurry!" Ariel took the kid and told us to go back home, so she could work better. That's how she was, a one-woman hospital.

Later that day, I got the news. It was a letter, straight from the boss, telling me what happened. Apparently, the kid had some kind of vision. It's was one of those "doomsday visions" that can really hurt rookies. That wasn't the biggest news, because you wouldn't believe how many times the world comes close to ending. "Ahhh shit, I got a mission." I sadly looked at Nova. She gave me a puzzled look, because normally teachers don't do much field work. "I got to go... A.S.A.P" The biggest news was the main reason I had to go: Donovan.

"You remember that kid last night, right? Well.. he had some kinda vision, a bad one. Anyway, Donovan is somehow involved. Ariel got an image of him from the kid's echo." I remembered explaining an echo to Nova. "Well, an echo is kinda like a nightmare that you keep having...except it's a vision. Ahh. Yanno? Anyways, it's something like that." I hope she understood.

I was finally all packed up. I hugged and kissed Nova goodbye and teleported to America.

"Some devil // Some angel // Has got me to the bones..."

Just as I heard what sounded like the Nephilim, Mirah, getting out of the tub, I got the last of the plaster out of my fur. I was sitting on the floor by a chair, waiting for Mirah to come out of the bathroom so I could actually keep an eye on her when I heard footsteps outside the front door. I twitched my ears, and focused inward. I couldn’t sense what this creature was, and for all I knew it was friendly, but it was still unknown so I decided I would take no chances.

‘At least it isn’t Anubis,’ I thought. I wasn’t up to fighting him just then. The being outside knocked on the door. I slunk towards the door, and jumped into a chair that would let me leap at what ever tried to get in.

“Hang on, I’m coming!” Mirah called. She came out in fuzzy slippers and blue shorts—blue is one of the only colors that I can still see as a cat—that showed a good deal of her legs, and a shirt with sleeves that were really straps. I gave a mental shrug. I’d seen worse in Egypt. At least this Nephilim could carry it off. Some of the Egyptians…my eyes narrowed, and I wished I could shudder. I settled for wrinkling my nose.

Mirah opened the door, and I tensed myself. As the door opened, I caught the scent of the being on the other side of the door. And I caught the sent of the being he’d been with recently. I thought my heart would stop.

“Sorry, you caught me at the end of my bath.” The Nephilim knew him, but I doubted she knew who he’d just been with. I could hardly believe it myself. I was suddenly furious, because they’d told me it was Anubis I should worry about. I got ready to leap at him.

“It’s no problem.. I should’ve called.. but I never think about it until I’m already here.” He said. I took a step closer and the chair creaked under me. He looked at me, and I caught a vibe of distaste. I flattened my ears and hissed.

“I.. uh.. got a new cat. Doesn’t seem to like you very much, does she?” The Nephilim said.

‘You got that right,’ I thought, and jumped at him. I scratched and bit his face and neck, and I could smell him on this creature. They’d told me it was some one using the name Anubis, but I hadn’t been able to believe it was really him. They said it was Anubis, so I wanted to believe it was the real Anubis because I had no problems with beating his ass. There was bad blood between us. But how was I supposed to fight him…?

“AHHH!! PLEASESTOPCLAWINGMYFUCKINGFACE!” He shouted. I bit harder. “P-please…please stop..” he tried to pry me off. I stopped attacking him as, ah…vigorously as I had before, and he got a better grip on me. “T-take…t-the.. c-cat..”

“Ack. Don’t hurt her!” Mirah helped him pull me off. He was already healing.

Interesting.

“Thank god.” He said, and I hissed at the blasphemy, but I couldn’t take a swipe at him because Mirah had me held close to her and was feeling me over, and I couldn’t have reached him anyway. “Nice cat you have there.” his tone was full of sarcasm. I growled as Mirah checked me over, to see if I was hurt. He’d been gripping me tightly, and she was probably worried about my ribs.

“Hey, wait a second.. your leg and ribs are supposed to be broken.” I only back stared at her, two golden eyes regarding each other. She noticed the marks on my shoulders, and I worried for a moment, but she only laughed. “Just forget it.” she said, waving a hand at him.

“Right..” he said. I relaxed in her arms, and even purred quietly, but there was still a bit of a growl in the purr. She put me down, and I rubbed against her legs and stayed next to her with my flank against her shin. “Oh, so this movie just opened.. ‘P.A.B.’ you wanna go see it? I was just getting bored at my place, plus they’re running a late showing at the theater. If not, we could always do something else.”

I tried to figure it out. Why how could they lie to me? Yes, I’d lied to them, and played along with Cheriour, letting him think I couldn’t keep anything from him. He still knew nothing of us…if there had ever been an ‘us’ to him…but Derdekea had probably known. You can’t keep much from her, if anything at all.

‘How did he get out…how did some one that strong manage to get past the barriers?’ I thought, feeling my heart sink. I wanted to curl up in a ball and die. What good would I be able to do this Nephilim if I couldn’t protect her?

“Umm…” he glanced at me. I stared right back. “..maybe we can get the cat something while we’re out? That way it might like me better.” He smiled. I snorted (or at least I tried to). I went to the couch and curled up on it, laying my head on my paws, heaving a frustrated sigh.

If she left with that creature, I might not be able to keep up. I’d have to change, and I wasn’t sure if I could manage it. I was still weak from healing myself so quickly because it had taken much of what little energy I had. Being hit by a car really takes it out of you.

I sat and waited for her to decide, finding myself wanting to trust this being. He was wholly different from anything I’d met. Somehow he was both human and not human, but he wasn’t a half-breed. At least I didn’t think so.

Still, the fact remained. If she went with him, I’d have to change. I’d have to follow them. I felt very tired, and hoped she wouldn’t go. For several centuries, I had not had to follow anyone, and wasn’t entirely sure of my stealth. Besides, there was the problem of how to get out after she locked the door. I couldn’t sneak out after her and leave it unlocked.

There was also the question of how some one so strong had gotten through the barriers and to the earth. Power is like a beacon. If something strong tries to break through, it usually gets stopped by the Powers. The system hadn’t been as well organized in the past, and many strong demons had gotten through. Take the example of Anubis. He’d broken through and wreaked havoc in Egypt, and I’d had to clean up after him, and then…well that doesn’t matter now. What matters is that the one calling himself Anubis, the one I wasn’t sure I could fight…he had found a hole in the barrier, and now I was working clean-up again. Only this time, I had to keep an eye on this half-breed, because she had something we could not afford to lose.

‘It will be alright for now,’ said a voice in my head. I felt warmth spread through me, and was completely relaxed by it. I felt the weight of a hand on the side of my face, the same loving caress as before. I closed my eyes, purring, and was soon asleep.

'Ahh fuck... a cat. I hate cats.' -Donovan's thoughts

"Hang on, I'm coming!"

Donovan was always worried he would be waking her up, 'Hmmm.. guess it's pretty rude that I didn't call.' He sighed, then stood there untill she opened the door.

"Sorry, you caught me at the end of my bath."

"It's no problem.. I should've called.. but I never really think about it untill I'm already here." He didn't know how to say 'sorry for bothering you' without actually saying it. Donovan heard a strange noise commnig from the chair in the corner of his eye. Slowly, he looked down and under the chair he saw a cat. 'Ahh fuck... a cat. I hate cats.' This particular cat didn't seem to like him either.

"I.. uh.. got a new cat. Doesn't seem to like you very much, does she?"

The cat jumped out from under the chair and attacked him. "AHHH!! PLEASESTOPCLAWINGMYFUCKINGFACE!" Donovan yelled in pain. (Note: Now.. Donovan is immortal and yes, he has super healing... BUT.. HAVE YOU EVER BEEN CLAWED BY A CAT!? IT HURTS!!! It's worse for him, because it can claw all day and he wouldn't get the sweet release of death.. due to blood loss.) Donovan wanted to rip the cat in half, but he knew it'd disturb Mirah very much. "P-please...please stop.." he tried to ripped it off of his face. "T-take...t-the.. c-cat.."

"Ack. Don't hurt her!" Mirah helped him remove the cat.

"Thank god." His face was just healing up. "Nice cat you have there." He couldn't hide the scarcasim in his voice. Mirah didn't really pay attention, she was busying making sure the cat was ok. 'Well damn.'

"Hey, wait a second.. your leg and ribs are supposed to be broken!" She looked the cat over and continued to talk to it. "Just forget it."

"Right.." He had forgotten why he came here. "Oh, so this movie just opened.. 'P.A.B.' you wanna go see it? I was just getting bored at my place, plus they're running a late showing at the theater. If not, we could always do something else." Donovan really felt stupid. 'Damnit, why is it so hard to ask her to go somewhere?' He was never good with women when he was trying to be. "Umm..." glanced at the cat, "..maybe we can get the cat something while we're out? That way it might like me better." He smiled.

[Saturday, November 22, 2003 @ 12:39 p.m.]

I know you're in this room, I'm sure I heard your sigh floating in-between where our worlds collide

The best thing about my apartment was the oversized bath tub. My long, brown hair was tied up in a cute pink bandana, so it wouldn't be in the way. I'd actually dozed off a few times in the steaming hot water and foam as I went through various thoughts in my head. Finally, I decided to rinse off and I was just wrapping up in fluffy pink towel when there was a knock at the door.

'Donovan,' I thought, sure that it was him at the door, not because I had psychic powers, but because I knew that nobody else would come visit me at one o'clock in the morning. I laughed and yelled, "Hang on, I'm coming!" I dried off and put on my pj's, a white spaghetti strapped shirt and light blue shorts decorated in stars. The shorts didn't cover up my ass too well, but they were really comfortable. Anyway, it was just Donovan. Finally, I slipped on my fuzzy purple house slippers and ran off to answer the door.

"Sorry, you caught me at the end of my bath." I laughed and let Donovan inside. Something wasn't right though.. My new kitty was crouching under a chair hissing and the hair on her back and tail was standing on end.

"I.. uh.. got a new cat. Doesn't seem to like you very much, does she?" I laughed, but suddenly my kitty pounced and attacked Donovan's head.

"Ack. Don't hurt her!" I started laughing even harder, as I helped Donovan remove the cat. I held her tightly in my arms so she wouldn't escape and attack again.

"Hey, wait a second.. your leg and ribs are supposed to be broken!" That was strange.. really strange. The cat had just been running and jumping, so there was no way it could be injured. I studied the cat questioningly, noticing that it didn't really look like most cats you see everyday. It had strange markings.. especially the two that were on it's back. They were near the shoulder and they sort of looked like.. no way, it couldn't be that. I cracked.

Donovan was standing there looking confused. "Just forget it." I waved a hand at him reassuringly, still holding kitty in the other arm. She had calmed down a lot, so I decided to let her go. No doubt, there was something strange about that cat, but I would figure that out later. Donovan was here now, so I needed to see what was up with him.

OOC: Eh.. I dunno if that was quite right.. The 1st person thing was kinda weird. >.> Oh well, Kchan wanted me to mention the kitty attacking D, so that was why I did that. n.n

[Thursday, November 20, 2003 @ 02:30 p.m.]

As promised... Here's your death. :: STAB ::

Donovan looked into the creature's eyes as it spoke to him.

"You've been around that halfbreed angel, haven't you?" It was more a statement than it was a question, and I took a step forward, feeling a bit of a grin come to my face. "You could be useful..."

"Well... maybe I've been around angels and maybe not. As for me being useful..I wonder why you'd say such a thing." Donovan realized that it didn't want a fight. He ran his hands through his hair. His hair was jet black, short, and spikey. The only exception to this, his bangs. They were a dark scarlet color and a bit longer then the other spikes. His bangs fell back down over his face, when he continued to speak.

"Tell me," I said, calmly, "tell me your relation with the halfbreed."

"Look, I don't have time for this. I thought you were gonna be an easy target. I was surprised..you were surprised.. and since you don't wanna fight me...I'll be on my way." Donovan turned away but slowly looked back at him. His voice lowered and he said, "About your question, why would you want to know about my affairs? For a minion demon to talk like that... well.. your boss must be close by." Donovan gave a dissatisfied look, "You bore me now.. have a nice night."

Donovan shrugged, his long black coat almost touching the floor, and he took off into the sky. Donovan was trying to figure out his game. "I couldn't sense his boss anywhere.. why would a demon on his level be solo?" He was getting closer to Mirah's place. "Well... whatever." It was gonna be hard landing unnoticed close to her place, so he landed early and walked the rest of the way. He walked up to her door.. thinking about what just happened in the alley. "I better not say anything for now.. I'll just watch my back..and Mirah's too."

my source is the source of all creation. her discourse is that we all don't survey the skies right before, right before they go grey... my source, and my remorse, flying over a great bay. where were the eyes of the horse on a jet pilot, one that smiled when he flew over the bay

OOC: XDWheee ANuuUUUu.ahhadge7 Me = using first person e.e

IC:
It was around around 7:30pm. The streets were full of people, and just outside a movie theatre, I found myself torn.

'It's worth it, isn't it?' I asked myself, wandering through the crowd, my arms curled tightly around myself. I was gripping my arms so tightly that I could almost feel my nails through the leather that cased them; likely, without that material in the way, I would have been drawing blood. It was an action meant to suppress, not to harm. Being surrounded by humans always made me fucking edgey. If I wasn't trying to keep a low profile...

I stopped abruptly, looking down at a child standing in line with his mum. He must've only been six or seven, although I'd never been a good judge of human age, because I wasn't a human. I never had been, at least not that I was aware of. Not that I was really observing him for his age... in my mind, I could see myself tearing this boy apart -- and of course enjoying it immensely.

The boy looked up at me then and after a moment, his eyes widened and he pressed himself tighter against his mum, tugging her arm. "Mummy, mummy..it's the boogieman," he was whispering to her, but in the loud, careless way only a child would. It didn't matter, because my hearing would have picked up even a careful whisper.

The parent looked down at her son, then at me, and then back at the boy. "Honey, stop it, that's rude..." She looked up again, shaking her head slightly and I wanted to smile when I saw the look on her face, that look of realization. I could tell that she was getting bad 'vibes' from me, but she covered. "I'm sorry, sir, I don't know what's come over him..."

"...Hmph." I promptly pushed my way out of the crowd and headed into an ally. Boogie man? What the fuck? Was that what kids were scared of these days? What the fuck sort of creature in it's right mind would allow itself to be called 'Boogie man'? Might as well call him fucking Tango Ted.

Nevermind that. As soon as I found the 'object', I could come back and rip that kid into pieces. Maybe I'd do his mum first, right in front of him... I grinned a little. I could even take down Boss if I wanted to... Boss was cruel to all his subordinates, but especially to me, for my failure and insubordination.

Whatever. Fuck him. I fought back last time. I wasn't as strong as Boss, but I'm probably a whole lot smarter than him -- I did quite a number on him before leaving. And I was going to show him, once I found the object, that I could be stronger. I was going to use that name of his too, 'Anubis'. Just to spite him. Fucking git.

I began to head down the alley, ignoring the stench that was coming from the gutters in the form of billowing fog, when I felt, more than heard, someone approach me from behind. I turned slowly and blinked, because there was a man with dark hair and clothes standing there. For some reason, it took me a moment to register that this man also had wings, although not the physical kind that I had [mine only came out when I needed them, like retractable claws]. I discovered, with much frustration, that I couldn't discern what sort of creature he was -- not an angel and not a demon, or any other unhuman creature that I'd come across in my years.

He seemed to be trying to figure out what I was too, which wasn't surprising. My kind didn't normally wander in the open like this.

After a moment of mutual staring, I noticed something familiar. A scent. Very vague, as if perhaps it had been washed off. The scent was easy to match in my mind. "You've been around that halfbreed angel, haven't you?" It was more a statement than it was a question, and I took a step forward, feeling a bit of a grin come to my face. "You could be useful..."

I didn't want to attract too much attention, from either side, not yet. This man was obviously from neither, although there was the slight problem that perhaps he was friends with the nephilim. "Tell me," I said, calmly, "tell me your relation with the halfbreed."

OOC: Durrr, I ended that kinda crappily butttt...XD;; I figure this should be easy to reply to?

Forever in the darkness...

Donovan walked down the cold dark street, towards his getto appartment. In was pretty run down, but Donovan liked those kinda places. He wasn't to flashy or anything like that.. just kept what he thought he'd need.

Inside his appartment, there was a couch, small tv, and a radio in the living room. His place had a kitchen, bedroom, and a bathroom, too. All of the rooms had almost nothing other then what would normally be in them, except for his bedroom. A large black chest stood in the closet behind his cloths, it was ful of weapons and gear.

Donovan had just got out of the shower and finished putting on his cloths when his cell phone started to ring. "Hello..?" He said. "Oh...Yeah.. everything is good here, how about you? Yeah... ye-... ohh ok." He smiled. "Nah.. I don't think anything will be going on soon... sure you guys can relax. If anything does happen... I'll let you know. Ok, Bye." ::Click::

Donovan was flying through the sky when he noticed someone walking down an alley all alone. The alley was kinda foggy for some reason, and he hadn't really had 'dinner' yet. "Eh, what the hell?" Donovan looked around then quietly landed behind the man....that's when Donovan realized it wasn't a man at all... it was...something.. something else. 'Oh shit... what did I just get myself into?' Donovan realized that he didn't bring any weapons with him... because he was just gonna go to Mirah's place. Before he could fly away, the "man" began to turn around.

"Animal I am and I'm looking for an answer, just like you, I should know which way to turn"

"Aren't you a lucky kitty?" Mirah was saying soothingly to the unconscious cat in her arms. She had managed to run out into the busy street while most of the oncoming traffic was stopped at a light. After briefly examining the cat, Mirah concluded that it would live. It looked like a broken leg and maybe a few ribs, but at least it was still breathing.

For a moment she considered doing things 'the easy way,' but decided against it. It would be a rather stupid risk, and besides, there was an animal hospital really close to her apartment. She hastily walked to it and was pleased to find that they could see the cat immediately. Instead of waiting in the waiting room, Mirah decided to use the time to make a trip to the grocery store. There, she purchased a few essentials such as a bag of cat food, milk, cat bowls, flea caller, litter and litter box, and a couple of cat toys. She had never really thought of keeping a pet before, but now seemed like a good a time as any to keep one.. besides, if she had to pay a vet bill, it would simply be a waste of money not to keep the cat.

Once she returned to the animal hospital, the veterinarian was just finishing up. He called her into the examination room to explain some things.

"..fractured rib.. broken left hind leg.. should be fine.." Mirah listened selectively. "..also took the liberty of giving her shots--"

"What?" She suddenly broke in. "I didn't authorize that."

"It seemed like the logical thing--"

"Right, right.. whatever.." She rolled her eyes and waved a hand dismisivley. Of course it probably was a good idea for the cat to get it's shots, but Mirah was still annoyed that she hadn't been asked. Mostly, she just wanted to go home so she hoped the vet would hurry up.

Mirah observed the that the cat's eyes were open and she crouched before it. She smiled as she realized that they had almost the same color eyes, a beautiful golden honey color. "Hey, it's waking up." Her voice had changed from annoyed to soft and soothing and she gently stroked it's back. It pawed at her medallion that was dangling before it's head and Mirah laughed. Soon after, it fell into unconsciousness again. Mirah looked up at the vet questioningly.

"We gave her strong medication to sooth the pain. She might be groggy for the next day, but after that she should be fine." Mirah nodded and the vet told her she could pay at the front desk ("What?! $125?!") and soon enough, she was finally back home.

Home was a decent, affordable one bedder on the fourth floor. Kitty was still sleeping when Mirah placed her carefully on the sofa. She stroked her, avoiding the dressing around her ribs and the cat began to purr. Mirah smiled at it affectionately. She plopped down next to her new pet and switched on the TV, ready to unwind for the night.

OOC: There, hope that was ok. First post is always a bitch. XD

"The great ones remember..."

When she saw two glinting lights in the distance, she wasn’t too worried; just wary. But when the figures kept coming in her direction, Ariella got nervous, and she tried to think of anything she could have done since her (ha-ha) early retirement to upset anyone from home that was powerful enough to come here so boldly and openly without fear. As the figures got closer, she could distinguish who they were…and she started to worry.

“Bastet,” said a tender, feminine voice inside her head, and Ariella knelt down with her head bowed. “That’s what they call you here, isn’t it?” the voice asked.

“Yes, a cruel joke.” Ariella answered aloud and a bit testily. She wasn’t sure why they had come, and being unsure or upset about anything made her irritable. Ariella steeled herself. “Why are you here?” she asked boldly. Suddenly there was a hand on her head, and it seemed incredibly heavy. She knew they’d been too far away to be right in front of her so quickly, but that was their way, wasn’t it? Keep you on your toes.

“Rise,” the other figure said. His voice was deep and strong. It was not a voice you could ignore because it was in your ears, in your head, and you couldn’t disobey it either, or he’d royally—or angelically, rather—thrash you. The hand, which seemed to have all the weight of the world behind it, was lifted and Ariella stood and faced the brightness of Seraphim.

“Cheriour, I think I can understand your presence. I am, after all, convicted. But Derdekea…why are you here?” Ariella didn’t lower her eyes as she looked at them. She was convicted, but she wasn’t guilty.

“Yes, it must seem strange, the Supreme Mother coming here.” Cheriour, his lip curling slightly on the last word, made a vague motion with his hand (which was actually very slender, the fingers long and tapered) to indicate the area around them. “But there is a reason for everything. You know that by now, surely?”

“Of course,” Ariella answered, smiling sardonically.

“Can you guess the reason?” Derdekea, her robes and hair seeming to float around her with every slight movement, took her own turn with resting a hand on Ariella’s head. But instead of placing it on the top of Ariella’s head, it was a caressing of the cheek.

“No, I try to keep to myself. I don’t know what’s been going on since I left.” Ariella couldn’t resist the urge to lean into Derdekea’s touch. It was just the effect she had, being the ultimate mother. Low, soft laughter bounced around in her head.

“Lying is useless. You know that.” Derdekea’s voice, though her lips hadn’t moved. “We’ll ignore it, because you’ve had no choice but to keep bad company here.” Cheriour, ever gracious, made another wave of his hand, this time dismissive.

“You don’t know what it’s like here.” Ariella answered defensively, taking a step back. She hated to do it, it seemed cowardly, but she’d been here so long, and they were so bright, so pure…she shook her head, eyes shut tightly. “Stop it.” she hissed.

“Play fair, Cheriour.” Derdekea ordered. “Don’t be childish. And tell her why we’re here. She obviously doesn’t know about any of it.”

“Hm,” Cheriour withdrew a grudging step. “Alright; we’re here to give you a chance to redeem yourself.” He said, sounding infinitely bored.

“Why?” Ariella asked suspiciously.

“It’s been found.” Cheriour said, enjoying the dumbstruck look on her face. “And you are offered a chance to…keep an eye on it, so to speak.”

“And I get to come back if I do?” Ariella asked, trying to hide her relief. She could go home…

“Yes, you get to come back. And if you happen to do an exceptional job…perhaps a promotion would be in order.” Cheriour’s voice held a persuasive smoothness that was hard to resist, but Ariella did her best.

“Well…for how long?” she asked, sounding suspicious.

‘Clever girl,’ a tiny voice in the back of her head whispered. She glanced at Derdekea, who smiled faintly. Even a faint smile seemed to lift Ariella’s spirits.

“As long as the threat exists, you will keep a close eye on it.” Cheriour said expansively.

“What threat?” Ariella tore her eyes away from Derdekea and locked eyes with Cheriour.

“You have no idea? No one comes to mind?” he asked, his tone intense, eyes boring into her.

“No, I have no idea.” She answered, and after a few more moments of seeming to drill a hole in the back of her head with his eyes, he appeared to be satisfied that she wasn’t lying.

“He’s calling himself Anubis.” He said evenly. Ariella swallowed. “I’d ask if it rang any bells, but I can see that it does.” At last he sounded pleased about something.

“I…his master…” Ariella said awkwardly.

“Yes, you got off with a warning that time. But if you fail this assignment, nothing will compare with your suffering…little kitten.” Cheriour spoke in a voice that was cold with promised agony. Ariella suddenly noticed that they were much taller than her—well, even taller than they’d been before—and that she could no longer see in color. She blinked. Yes, there was definitely more than one eyelid now. She swiveled her ears until they lay flat on her head. Although she forbore to scratch him, she hissed and grumbled when Cheriour picked her up. He gingerly handed her to Derdekea, who cradled Ariella in her arms and scratched her chin until Ariella couldn’t help purring.

‘Damned Seraphim,’ she thought, and was rewarded with laughter from both of them.

“That, kitten is an oxy moron.” Cheriour said smugly. Ariella made the closest noise to a snort that a cat can, and projected thoughts of Lucifer, and all the other fallen angels who happened to have been Seraphim before they became demons. This time the laughter only came from Derdekea.

‘There is much at stake, Ariella.’ Derdekea said, not allowing Cheriour to hear. Ariella settled comfortably into the arms of the Supreme Mother. It was good to be a cat again. She’d missed being able to change.

‘I know,’ she said in the confident tones only a cat or a being with a personality like Cheriour’s can achieve.

‘You must not fail. It is not time for me to perform my task.’ Derdekea’s arms gripped her tighter. She was frightened, and that was what made Ariella wonder just what, exactly, she’d gotten herself into. No, it wasn’t time for Derdekea’s task; that was a long way off.
__________

So, this was it. She stared at the door. Then she stared at the street outside, busy with traffic. The busy street, which, just happened to be in between her and the door she was staring at.

‘The least they could have done was put me on the right side of the street.’ She thought, curling a lip back to reveal long fangs. ‘Oh well.’ The tendons attached to her claws contracted, unsheathing her claws. She steeled herself for the run, watching for an opening. When one came, she almost made it, but it was too narrow an opening, even for a cat.

A horn honked uselessly, because it’s useless to honk at an animal; tires squealed as the car swerved to avoid her, but the driver didn’t quite make it.

Pain. She’d known it in that place she’d come from, but it had been emotional. This was entirely different. She howled piteously, not hearing the doors open, the feet running towards her, and the arms lifting her gently. She was aware of human voices, and then it was gone. She’d failed.

But then she opened her eyes, and once she’d blinked a few times to get them to focus properly, she saw that she was inside, and there was a very bright light shining over her—not the bright light, luckily—and there was still pain.

Interesting.

She looked around, and saw it dangling in front of her, a smooth purple stone that seemed to have no end to its glittering depths embedded in shining metal. She reached out for its liquid, dark eternity, but her paw plopped back to the surface she thought was a metal table. More human voices as she slipped back into the cool darkness of the unconscious mind.

OOC: I borrowed Mirah slightly, but I got permission first. Thanks Rooonnnaaah!! x3
